We just went through a hardware upgrade going from Windows to AIX and FIS has informed us that when we go through a software upgrade we will need to reduce our server size by a considerable amount so that the backup and restore doesn’t take forever. Does anyone have a special process that they do to keep their AHST, UCOM, TRAN and EXTK mstr file sizes small? Any thoughts/advice/suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Ameritas purges our VTRAN twice a year, for transactions/folders older than 2 yrs. We archive our UCOM into different file sets, keeping current and prior 1 year in our main fileset. We don’t delete history records.
